The 38th annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge has officially kicked off!
On Friday, April 7th, 20,000 people took to the Truman Sports Complex to celebrate the kickoff party. The weather was beautiful and people were very excited to kick off another year of corporate challenge sports.
The event featured bands, DJ’s, bouncy houses, sumo suit battles all around, tailgate games and the smell of KC BBQ in the air. Ernie III once again provided an impressive spread of pulled pork and tuna casserole (for the Catholic’s celebrating lent) for the Straub team to enjoy.
Participants were also invited to partake in the mile walk which would contribute points to each team’s overall Corporate Challenge score. Many Straub employees walked their mile for the team. Parker, in keeping with tradition, ran his mile in order to make it to his son’s track meet on time.
The atmosphere was very friendly, but you could tell that the people were ready for the competitions to begin. With Kauffman Stadium (home of the 2015 World Series Champions) glistening on the horizon, participants had big dreams that this could be their championship year.
