Rain-soaked ground was broken Monday for the Palestine Commons, a $10.7 million enhanced living senior housing project in the 3400 block of Prospect Avenue.

The outdoor event, which proceeded despite a light drizzle, was attended by U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo.; U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo.; and a host of other city, state and federal officials.
