At Straub Construction, we feel that a safe working environment is not only our goal, but our responsibility.
The safety of our employees is a top priority for us at Straub. We get every member of our team involved in the safety process, from top management to workers in the field. Straub feels that safety is not just a set of rules, but an attitude. Our safety policies focus on the employee and the way they approach situations. We feel that encouraging the employee to take responsibility is the key to a successful safety program. Our policy is given to all employees who work for Straub Construction and to all subcontractors. We require our subcontractors to have their own safety programs.
To back up Straub’s commitment to safety, we have a full time Safety Coordinator who oversees safety on each of our projects. The role of the Safety Coordinator is to help the Superintendents achieve and maintain a safe working environment.
Straub also believes that a drug free work environment is essential to a successful safety program. We address this fact in our Drug-Free Awareness Program. Upon being hired by Straub Construction, each employee must go through a background check process that includes drug testing. They are given a copy of the Drug-Free Awareness Program which is also addressed at each of our safety meetings.
Straub Construction is proud to be a ‘Platinum’ STEP safety award recipient from the Associated Builder’s and Contractor’s Heart of America Chapter. Platinum status is the highest level in the awards program and Straub strives diligently to earn it every year.
