Real estate developer Ernest J. Straub, Sr. laid the foundation for Straub Construction in Kansas City in 1920 when he began his construction services developing homes, churches and schools in the Country Club Plaza and Mission Hills areas of Greater Kansas City

Ernie Straub, Jr. started his career building houses after the Korean War. With a background in engineering, he worked around Kansas City foremost as a developer, but was often hired for builder contractor services on these sites.

In 1960 Ernie Straub, Sr. and Ernie Straub, Jr. worked together on their first construction project, which was building apartments on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. Unfortunately, Ernie Straub, Sr. passed away suddenly and did not live to see the project completed, but Ernie Jr. continued company’s legacy.

Ernie Straub, Jr. and Ernie Straub III joined together in 1987 and assembled the success of Straub Construction Kansas City based on the company’s commitment to building quality construction – on time and within budget. With the guidance of Ernie Straub III, Straub Construction evolved into a general contractor and experienced significant growth in the 1990s.

Today, the success of Straub Construction Kansas City continues. In part because of the diverse construction projects we build and by expanding our builder contractor services into areas beyond Greater Kansas City.
