Shawnee, Kan., Feb. 14, 2011 – Straub Construction Company was recently presented the 2010 General Contractor Member of the Year award by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) Heart of America Chapter.

Straub Construction of Kansas City was selected for their outstanding service of a General Contractor ABC member. Other award criteria included qualities such as promoting ABC and the Merit Shop Contractor, committee/volunteer involvement, attendance at ABC events, referral of new members to ABC, and sponsorship participation. Straub Construction was recognized during the ABC’s annual awards banquet at Harrah’s Casino & Hotel in North Kansas City, Mo.

In December Straub Construction also earned three ABC Excellence in Construction awards for Entertainment Properties Trust (Kansas City, Mo.); Goddard Unified School District (Goddard, Ks.); and Holy Angels Catholic Church (Basehor, Ks.). The Entertainment Properties Trust project team also won the ABC President’s Award.
