Project Description
This will be the fourth project Straub Construction has completed for KCUMB. The Student Center & Library are two separate buildings being constructed on the ground level, directly adjacent to national award-winning Weaver Auditorium.
The Student Center is a 24,164 SF three story building which features fitness and aerobic rooms and full locker room facilities. Other features: large lounge areas, full service coffee bar, and a new campus book store, student meeting rooms, office space and an exterior patio deck. The building connects to Weaver Auditorium on the first floor allowing both buildings to be used simultaneously for special events on campus.
The Library is 20,813 SF and will be the University’s first building dedicated solely for library service. The first floor has a large custom built reception desk and office space. Other features: conference and meeting rooms for student use and a large, open space for library source material.
Both buildings have high end interior finishes including stained wood wall paneling, terrazzo stone flooring, carpet tile flooring, and a stainless steel and glass stair railing systems. Full service elevators are located in each building.
