The Phoenix Building

Description:
Located in historic downtown Overland Park, this 35,502 SF project includes 1st floor retail plus six garages, 2nd floor offices, and four condo units on the 3rd floor, each with loft level and outdoor patio.
One unique feature is the five steel bow trusses that form the barrel roof assembly. Due to size, the trusses were shipped in sections and welded together on site before hoisting into place.
Challenges Straub prevailed include lack of access due to busy streets on two sides, inability to work off roofs of neighboring buildings, and no storage.
