Breaking Ground at Park University

In November, Straub Construction and Park University broke ground on the new 26,000 square foot Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center. Named in honor of the primary benefactor the Plaster Family Foundation, this new facility will be the iconic new home to Park University’s School of Business and the Park Warrior Center.

Designed by WSKF Architects, this 3-story facility located on the East side of campus will feature new Dean’s and faculty offices, along with 21st century learning environments. A state-of-the-art finance lab will prepare students with real-world experience by providing them access to industrial leading software used by wall street daily. A video production studio and an entrepreneurship lab are among other spaces that will enhance the student’s educational experience on Park University’s Parkville, MO campus.

Prioritizing Student Needs
With over 50% of Park University’s student population commuting to and from their Parkville campus, the Plaster Center will also house a commuter lounge boasting comfortable seating, built-in technology and a kitchenette. This space will be encouraged for commuting students to gather, study, relax and socialize.

With an extremely large portion of Park’s student population are veterans or service members transitioning in and out of the military. The Warrior Center will provide a designated space to assist these students– including areas to gather, and study, and a lounge with their own a kitchenette.

Straub Construction looks forward to completing this facility in time for the 2021 Fall semester.
