Chances are, if you’ve ever picked up a check from Straub, you’ve met Kim McFarland. As our Accounts Payable Administrator, Kim manages the books – making sure the bills are paid and our partners receive checks on time.

Kim began her construction career in the 1990’s as a project assistant for a concrete contractor. In Bethesda, Maryland she was a Field Operations Manager, ordering material, tracking rentals and managing safety. She eventually found her niche in Accounts Payable, leading her to Straub.

Kim enjoys interacting with our project management team and keeping up with the progress of projects – connecting with subcontractors and trade partners along the way. She considers herself a workaholic, if she sees a project or person that needs help, she doesn’t hesitate to step in. This past year, Kim has been instrumental in developing key processes to make our accounting systems more efficient. 

But, the best part about working at Straub is the people, she says. “They’ve become my family.” 

Kim recently purchased a home and keeps busy with house projects. She also loves to paint, especially with friends. Recently, she gained a new Grand Niece and loves to visit her and family often. Oh, and did we mention she’s a HUGE Chief’s fan?
