16 years ago, Kip was recommended to Straub Construction by the Head of the Construction Department at Kansas State University. Although he had plenty of job opportunities, our focus on building community resonated with him. The rest is history.
As a Sr. Superintendent, Kip is one of the first people to dial when questions or project concerns come up. He’s known for his dedication to guiding our less experienced Superintendents, helping them learn the construction process and how to manage aggressive project schedules. His knowledge and expertise have been pivotal in influencing Straub’s next generation of Superintendents, something we’re very grateful for.
“Construction can be daunting, especially for a new college graduate. I’m here to support them and help take some of that stress off.”
Kip recently completed Avila University’s new Goppert Performing Arts Center during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, proving that leadership and transparent communication can overcome any obstacle. “We spent a lot of time trying to figure out how we were going to push forward through COVID. It taught me that no matter what the circumstances are, we can put our heads together and figure out a way to overcome these challenges.”
How does Kip describe Straub’s culture, you ask? “Family, fair, fun” – three values that take priority outside of his work, too. He loves attending his kids’ sports activities.
“Kip treats everyone with an extreme amount of respect and has very high expectations for everyone working on the job. Kip’s demeanor motivates his trade partners – they want to work hard for him.”
