Saving an Important Piece of History at Park University (Drone Video)

300-Yard Journey

On August 7th, a little after 11:30am, the 300-yard journey to the top of the hill began on the campus of Park University. With the brand new school of business center being built, the little house currently in that location needed to be moved.

Built in 1845

The house on the Park University campus is thought to have been built in 1845 (it’s not every day you see full log floor joists).

A Piece of History Saved

This house was the residence of Parkville and Park University founder George S. Park. With so much history in the walls of this house, Park University decided it must be saved. Multiple news crews, dozens of University students and staff, and Parkville residence gathered at Park University. The historical house made its slow and careful voyage to its new home at the top of the hill.
