The Church

On December 29th, nearly 1,000 members of the St. Paul Catholic Church gathered at their old church and school in Olathe. The large group proceeded four miles down the road to their brand-new facility. This almost 2-hour procession was led by Father Michael Hermes.

He carried the Eucharist from the old church to the tabernacle in the new church. It was an extremely cold 20 degree morning in Olathe. The people in the crowd were cold, but warm with eager anticipation to arrive at their new beautiful facility!

The community felt bitter sweet in saying goodbye to a facility that had been the home of the St. Paul Catholic Church and School since 1962. The new facility is going to help the continued growth of their community.

The procession arrived at the new facility where they were met by Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann, who then presided over the Eucharistic Adoration and blessing of the new church and school.

The School

The St. Paul facility was scheduled to be completed on January 4th of this year. We knew how incredibly convenient it would be for the students, faculty, and staff if we could finish the project ahead of schedule. The St. Paul Catholic School students were scheduled to return from Christmas Break on the week of January 7th.

The goal was for the teachers and administrators to be able move into their classrooms and offices the week before school continued. If we were not able to finish ahead of schedule, the school would have to wait until at least spring break to move into their new facility.

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, our team worked efficiently to maximized the project schedule. The week before Christmas, we delivered on our present to the St. Paul Catholic Community. On December 21st, two weeks prior to our originally scheduled completion date, we finished the project.

Over the next two weeks, the staff was able to move into their new facility. On the week of January 7th, the students arrived with eyes wide and mouths open in amazement at their beautiful new learning environment!
