As a Kansas City general contractor, Straub Construction believes that providing a great environment for employees to work makes for an exceptional group. This, in turn, enables Straub Construction to give back to Kansas City — the community that has helped make us successful.
WE BUILD WITH BRICKS, MORTAR AND HEART
At Straub Construction Company, we don’t build for the industry awards or accolades we receive, we build for the people who work, learn, pray and live in the buildings we construct. It’s how we’ve worked for over 90 years.
As a general contractor in Kansas City, we genuinely believe in improving the lives of people with the buildings we construct. Straub Construction helps 50+ charities and non-profit groups throughout the year. If our projects and support can make a positive impact on communities, there is an even greater hope for our children and future leaders.

As a general contractor in Kansas City, we genuinely believe in improving the lives of people with the buildings we construct. If our projects and financial support can make a positive impact on communities, there is an even greater hope for our children and future leaders. Straub Construction firmly believes in helping others, particularly during a recession.
PROVIDING AFFORDABLE, QUALITY HOUSING
Since the 1970s, providing quality housing for low-income families has remained a company priority. Straub Construction has renovated thousands of Kansas City area housing units. Many of these projects received awards, whether from the Missouri Housing Development Commission or for historic renovation. Ernie Straub III, president of Straub Construction, is highly respected within the affordable housing community for his knowledge of the construction industry, his honesty and integrity. He is also committed to redeveloping Kansas City metropolitan’s urban core.
CONTRIBUTING TO COMMUNITY
Three of the 50+ charities Straub Construction has supported over the years are the Bishop Sullivan Center, the Community Housing of Wyandotte County and City Vision Ministries. We believe each is a true asset to and provide them with volunteers and financial assistance. Additionally, Parker Young, our executive vice president/COO, has served on the City Vision Ministries board for three years and currently is vice president of the board.
Employees at Straub Construction help in their own ways, too, by
- Donating their free time to renovate houses
- Making presentations to student groups, whether pre-schools or college level
- Giving their time and/or finances to area food pantries
- Active involvement with churches, schools, youth sports and scouting organizations
- Raising money and creating awareness for special causes
Every year Straub Construction provides materials and our project managers, superintendents and laborers to charitable organizations across Greater Kansas City. We do these projects quietly. While Straub Construction takes immense pride in financially helping agencies, it’s the smiling faces of those we assist that give us greatest satisfaction.
