Established in 1858 as a boarding school, Benedictine College once had only 6 students. Today, you’ll find over 2,000 undergraduate students on campus.
Over the last decade, Benedictine has continued to grow and has completed 10+ major construction projects on campus. Straub has completed the new construction of St. Michael and Lemke Residence Halls and five Row Houses, along with the addition and renovation to the Bishop Fink Academic Building and renovation to St. Benedicts Hall. Currently, we are in progress of constructing their new library and will be beginning work on St. Benedicts Hall Entryway.
The Construction
This project includes the demolition of the existing outdoor cages and the construction of a new 5,130-square-foot pre-engineered metal building. The facility will include four batting cage tunnels, a training room, and restrooms. The cages are designed to retract, allowing access to a 4,000-square-foot turf area that can be used for drills and other training activities. This new space will give students, athletes, and staff the ability to train and practice indoors year-round, regardless of the weather.
