Heartland Preparedness Center

HEARTLAND PREPAREDNESS CENTER

A joint facility for military, public safety and emergency management.

A new Wichita facility helps National Guard members train and respond for national disasters.

THE COMMUNITY

This unique building provides an opportunity for the National Guard and local law enforcement to work together in responding to disasters. In the unfortunate event that a disaster strikes, these two entities will be efficient and effective in serving, ultimately making the local and state communities safer.

THE CONSTRUCTION

This LEED Gold Certified project is located on a 47-acre brownfield site and includes offices, classrooms, assembly space and a locker room that serves as a storm shelter.

Additionally, the project scope includes two parking lots with aaccess road, a 22,500 SF helicopter landing pad, and the construction of a building pad for a future 58,000 SF Facilities Maintenance building.

This facility was a team effort.
