Johnson County Courthouse

Johnson County Courthouse

Historic courthouse renovation enhancing systems, accessibility, and preservation.

The Community

The Johnson County Courthouse, located in Warrensburg, Missouri, has served the community since its construction between 1896 and 1898.

The Construction

This renovation includes a complete upgrade of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to improve performance and bring everything up to code. Window A/C units and outdated electrical panels will be removed, and new infrastructure will be installed throughout. Non-original exterior windows, doors, and storefronts will be replaced with historically appropriate materials, and accessibility upgrades will be made at key entrances. Structural improvements will support new equipment, and select historic elements—like Victorian tile—will be carefully preserved or restored. All work will follow state historic preservation guidelines.
