Kansas City Symphony at Webster School

KANSAS CITY SYMPHONY AT WEBSTER SCHOOL

New life for an old school.

A beacon of the Crossroads, a 135-year-old school will soon be home to the Kansas City Symphony.

THE COMMUNITY

The historic Webster School at 17th and Wyandotte has been an iconic Crossroads landmark for over a century. Formerly hosting an upscale restaurant and boutique shop, the establishment closed its doors last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Owner and philanthropist, Shirley Helzberg, vowed to give the building a new future – becoming the new headquarters for the Kansas City Symphony.

THE CONSTRUCTION

The lower level will be reconfigured for public gatherings, including recitals, classes, and events along with art and historical displays. An outdoor courtyard will be created and the upper two levels will be converted to office, performance, meeting, and event spaces.

This renovation is a team effort.
