What does community mean to you?

Community is more than concrete, bricks and steel. The sense of belonging and responsibility doesn’t come from a collection of buildings. It comes from how people use those buildings. It comes from a vision of what a building can be.

As your builder, we’ll create spaces that foster what community means to you.

We advocate for our vendors, clients and employees.

We’re all on the same team, building communities together. We’re motivated by doing what’s right for our teammates. We take pride, responsibility and accountability in our work.

We celebrate families.

Families are our backbone. Their support is at the core of what inspires us to work hard every day.

We believe in affordable housing.

Ernie and the rest of us are committed to redeveloping Kansas City’s urban core. Through quality housing for low-income families, Straub Construction has built or renovated thousands of KC area housing units since the 70s.

We give back.

Over the years, we’ve supported more than fifty charities. Right now, the two we’re focused on are the Bishop Sullivan Center and Community Housing of Wyandotte County.

We provide materials as well as our project managers, superintendents and laborers to charitable organizations across Greater KC. And we applaud our employees who volunteer to renovate houses, make presentations to student groups, fundraise for special causes, work at food pantries and remain active in their community churches, schools, scout groups and more.

Above all else, we keep our
guiding principle simple:
treat others the way you
would like to be treated.
It hasn’t led us wrong yet.

What’s your vision?

Give Joe a shout and let’s figure out how to bring it to life.
